I have a PS3, but just now I am finding that many of titles that I anticipate playing are only on the 360. By wife thinks I should go for the elite (because its black and would match the TV and the PS3).

I wouldn't normally go for a watered down version, but my thinking is what do I need a hard disk for.

The main two games I am anticipating are:

Fable 2 and Splinter Cell Convicted, but there are other titles I would get as well most notably Halo 3.

I am conscious that Fable 2 will probably hit PC and that conviction definitely will and maybe ps3 also. Halo 3 will probably be a Windows 7 only game but I can live without it.

I personally believe as a games platform I made the wrong choice in console with the ps3 (although I tell myself that the BD drive makes the ps3 a better overall spend).

The question I would ask is is the Arcade with its little memory card a worthy contender, or I should I just come back when I have a question worth answering?!!!

That seems pretty unanimous, the hard disk is needed and worth the money. Makes we wonder why MS even bother to do the core/arcade versions at all. Even if its aimed at tots, its far too expensive if you aren't going to use all the power feature.

I have a few months before Fable 2 come out, so I have time to decide whether to choose the Elite or Pro.

Is the elite here to stay, I thought it was originally a special edition which would be available for a short time before going from black to white and replacing the Premium/Pro.
