If they made this thing alittle more orginal, like having game characters as your avatar or something, I'd be ok with that. or maybe the higher your gamerscore is the cooler your avatar looks?

The video was shown at the E3 conference. It's Rare explaining the Avatar system. Where's the comedy? Where's the "skit"? What is SNL?

I did wonder, it look like a bunch of students doing a project for uni trying to look at different body shapes, hair styles and clothes etc, thought it was just some kind of promo vid for the avatar system?

You'll see them in the dashboard when you tun on your system, you'll see them in your friends list, you're gonna see it in games all over the place, you'll see avatars on websites...

Well that's just great. Everywhere I look I'll see a sea of cheesy grinning avatars and people getting excited about unlocking "layered with fringe hair".

I can see in the future consoles devolving into purile platforms only pre-teens and girls will play. All the games with stuff I like (explosions, big guns, blood n gore) will be PC only.

I'm not joking either, I think that's how it will play out (for the most part).
