Hi
Is said list available for peeps that are running with a VGA cable?

Or if you want, feel free to post a list of any of your xbox games that work with the VGA cable.

I only have two xbox games left (Halo1 and XIII) and neither work with my vga cable. Its just that with such a huge back catalogue of xbox games, some at cheapie prices, it would be nice to know what works.

Halo 2 and call of duty are both running through mine ok (inc multiplayer on xbox live). .I can play ninja gaiden and splintercell but not online ??.

Dead or alive 3 looks awesome in high res too and plays just as good as doa4 .
not really tried much else.

I have great difficulty getting games to work via VGA as well. The one's i have had success with are -

Halo (1280 x 768)
Halo 2 (1280 x 768)
DOA 3 (1280 x 768)
Ninja Gaiden (1280 x 768)
Fable (640 x 480)

Most of my other games that are listed on the compatibility list will not work even at 640 x 480. Im not entirely sure that all my above list will now work either since the last emulator update.

The VGA cable is a bit of a wierd one I think. The problem is, you're setting only one resolution for it, and it can't change between the resolutions automatically, but for a lot of the old games, it wants to run in 480p, and some of them 720p. That's the main disadvantage of the VGA cable as it's not giving you the automatic scalability of component HD.

Try changing your resolutions and see what happens.

The VGA cable does nto support PAL-50Hz so games that do not support running at 60Hz will not work when using VGA. You end up getting the error saying that it doesnt support your resolution.
Halo 2 is a funny one, i think it runs Single player will run PAL-60 fine, but when you try to run the multiplayer it forces it down to PAL-50 and doesn't work, lease i always get the error when i try to go into multiplayer, but the game will load fine (but didnt start a new single player campain)

Its the UK version, pretty sure i had it running at 1280 x 768. I may be wrong though as its been a while since i tried. I know Halo 2 definately worked, will try Halo later tonight.

halo 2 is fine in both single player and on LIVE after all the updates are downloaded from MS, which have to be done with a normal TV connection not VGA lead, once done you can hook up the vga lead again and play as normal

Only if using VGA. You can't go into the original Xbox dash with VGA (and most original Xbox games need the original dash to download updates).

No, you are quite correct it doesnt work using VGA and the latest emulator software.

Thanks thought it was the case. it seems the vga cable wont let a 50hz signal through it meaning most pal games wont work :(
