Hi

I've been given a 360 though have a problem when I put it on the lights flash green thats fine but when there is a HDMI connected it won't boot up and have a E 64 code on the screen.

Is it broke or maybe a simple fix.

Cheers

I've heard of similar issues... just out of interest, have you tried booting it while your TV already has the HDMI input selected?

Most common cause of and e64 error code is a bad cable on the back of the DVD drive or a bad firmware flash or dead dvd drive.

Either the power or sata cable they are cheap on ebay and very easy to replace but you will have to open the 360 replace them.

I would start with those if they don't fix it you have a bit tougher job as to replace the DVD drive or even attempt a reflash you would need to know the drive key.

youtube has plenty of vids on how to open your console.

E64: DVD Drive Error - Dvd drive timed out during reset :Wrong firmware, dvd is without f/w chip, etc. This can also be caused by the tray not being fully closed on boot. also it could mean that the Kernel can't be launched/signature in NAND Flash chip is broken It could be possible after bad update. http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?sho...p;#entry4156375 This might also be caused by a bad SATA cable.
