360 Controller mods (Not SF4 ones)

What does annoy me is the fact the Elite is grey rather than black. Once my 3 years for RROD are up I'll either wrap mine in true black or vinyl dye it to make it properly awesome...and will change the green LEDs on the front to blue.

Pretty much my thoughts, I dunno how long i have left on my Xbox 360, RROD wise. But once it runs out, It's going to be a case of dying it, and changing the light blue. Because my LG TV has a blue light when its on. My Sky box is blue when its on. So ofcourse I'd like my soon to be black 360 giving off a blue light too.

I think i'll get some practice in on pads before i move onto things like the 360 itself though

Yeah, I'll be modding all my controllers to be completely black (using dye for the next one I think) and changing the LEDs to blue ones when I can be bothered to get hold of both the dye and a decent soldering iron.

The LEDs on the console are the same as the pads, so it is a better idea to do the pad before the console, at least if you do break it, it's only ~£30 down the pan.

I have the same view on the LEDs, most things these days are Blue/Red LED for power, normally blue, plus black + blue = awesome black + green = pants.

tbh I quite like the black and green as wellas the matt black of the elite itself. I've currently got a gow2 faceplate on which is black black with red and the console colour looks much nicer. Each to their own I guess.

I haven't seen vinyl dye anywhere locally and the only online site seems to be linked to ebay. If anyone comes across a good supplier would you please give me a shout.

My next real project is to mount a blu ray player (any) into a hifi cdp chassis as all my hifi pre power amps are champage silver/gold. Don't think i'll find a dye to match!
