360 Controller tilt mod!

okok, i'll be the first to say it

*wii rip-off* :p

anyway, looks like he did a good job there, wonder just "how" responsive it is?

Looks good but i dont know about using this so called "tilt" sensors as controls when i can press the button. It will only come handy for flight games imo.

Couldn't agree more. Full motion is obviously a great feature, but a tilt feature like this mod or like the Playstation3 is completely pointless, I too would much rather press a button.

I heard the ps3 game WarHawk will be using it for the in flight battle - It think it is a good idead giving that control for aeroplanes in games can be confusing at times i.e Yaw, thaw? Thrust etc I await to see hwo this goes.

Yep, same here.

I don't even have the slightest interest in the Wii controls at the moment so having tilt sensors is even more pointless imo.

Is spending all your time doing something that is extremely difficult to do (yet ultimately pointless) really smart?

He might not find it difficult, if i wanted to make one for my controller it wouldnt be difficult, i'm a PCB CAD/CAM engineer, i can get them made here for free and also get the Bill of materials sorted, prob all for free ;)

it looks kool to show off o your buddys but i highly doubt that you would want to use that all the timr with racing games, it would get annoying lol

A few years back microsoft released a Sidewinder freestyle pro - basically x and y axis could be controlled by tilting the controller left - right - forward backward - instead of using the d-pad. Whats the difference to that and what this guy has done?

Not used a wii - guess that has the addition of a third axis for up down - movement.

Maybe microsoft were ahead of the game with the freestyle pro back when it was released!

I had one of those pads, it came with a bundled copy of Motocross Madness. Great game it was and the controller worked very well on it. However, the tilt feature was utterly pointless and rubbish and for any other type of game. This is the reason I think the new Sony Sixaxis pad will be rubbish. I'd rather have rumble over tilt any day.

Still nice mod.

I've still got my Freestyle pro.. maybe I should plug it into the 360 and see if it works :p

Isn't just me then. Nearly sold it a few months ago - would've probably got a couple of quid for it at best!

It was only useful for motorcross madness tho!

Lol i had a pad for the ps2 big round thing something simliar to this, maybe not as good, it was terrible. Must've been used once if that. :p
