How much was the core pack on said day? I cant remember and Im generating a list of stuff nicked the other week.

Small list I need prices for. Im not sure if they are the same as they are now...

Core system
Extra wireless controller
Wireless net adapter
Hard drive

If anyone can remeber the prices of thses please let me know. I need to get my claim in pronto.

Pretty sure that retail on the pad was £34.99, and the wireless adapter was £69.99.

But, of course, you'll have receipts and credit card/bank statements that say what you actually paid ;)

Core system £209.99
Extra wireless controller £32.99
Wireless net adapter £59.99
Hard drive £69.99

The RRPs haven't changed since launch, just shops are now doing bundles/discounts etc themselves.

The wireless controller was £34.99 although some places charged £32.99 on launch. Other prices are spot on though. I'm surprised the Core has only come down £10.

Cheers lads.. I have added the prices to my list. If I send the list to the insurers saying I had xbox 360 thye would quote me price for Premium pack and that cost less then the core and extra bits to make it to Premium pack what my missus paid for.

So far I totaled up £500 in games £400 on hardware (console, controllers etc) and £374 on HD-DVDs.

Not even added the box sets they took yet. All the Buffy series, Godfather, Taken, all LOTR extended, Beverly hill cop trilogy, Back to future trilogy etc etc. There was a lot of them.. I remember paying upto £70 for some box sets.like Aliens for example.

I reckon we should get a fat cheque for at least £2500.:D

Yeah ok:rolleyes:

;)
Thing is trying to get proof for everything. I can send in the 360 manual etc as proof but to prove the controllers and games is hard. Mind you the insurers said that shouldnt make any sort of problem. I mean, who keeps reciepts from 1998 for DVDs?

When I claimed I had to trawl the shops and get written quotes for replacement items (our car was nicked along with child seat, buggy, kids toys, etc).

What a ball ache. I suppose it's to be expected - I know that RIcher Sounds do a insurance quote service for free

The thing is with getting replacement quotes is that you wont get quoted the same as you paid. I bought loads of DVD box sets and now they are worth a third of the price. I picked up the Aliens Quad set for £70 on release i think it was and now you can get it for £20.

Does your insurer not do 'new for old'?

If they did new for old I would lose out. They would send me the money or actual box set at todays prices. So if I paid £70 for Aliens and you can buy it for £20 I would be £50 out of pocket.

Its what got nicked and how much I paid for it at the time that matters not how much its worth now. If I had the Aliens quad with the "head" do you think they would cover the extra as well as replacing it. It is now £99 when I was going to buy it years ago it was nearly £200. Im sure they wouldnt pay the extra.

But if you think about it

Even if you paid 70 quid, its depreciated in value to 20 quid.

So they give you 20 quid, you go to the shop and buy a brand new copy.

What have you lost? Nothing, you get a replacement for the item you lost, you lost 50 quid yourself by buying it at release and not waiting for the price to go down, if anything youve gained, as you will have a brand new copy from the shop without a crease or a wrinkle.

I bought a PSone at launch for 300 smackers, if it got robbed, I wouldnt expect 300 quid back, there about a tenner everywhere second hand, obviously thats second hand not new but if I got robbed and PSone went missing, Id be more than happy with say 20 quid

I know I know.. Thats not the point..;) I would still feel robbed. Love to see them get the DTS Armageddon replaced...If I had it.

I know how it works.. But I still feel as though what I paid for it and the value it was is what should be covered by the insurance cover.. probably me being to greedy.:)

In my case a buggy that was nicked (which we got as a sample for £10 - Urban Detour thing) had a replacement cost of £250.
We got new for old which was good :)
If I had a 5 year old TV and they replaced it with a new one I'd be very happy.
