Hi guys, sorry for another 360 knacking up thread but i need your advice on a couple of things.
1st off the 360 was bought in Dec 06 so is under plenty of warranty, and has been spot on since i got it. It gets about 5 hours per week use, 10 if am a lucky man, so it hasn't been hammered by any means.
Last night after about an hour of gaming, it froze, this is the 1st time i've experienced this. I was playing Lego SW II and to add to my frustration i was on the last level to complete coming out of the death star and it crashed!
I had a fiddle with the buttons and nothing happened. In the stunned silence though a rather loud whirring and other very stranger noises were coming from the power brick.
I've never once in the near 6 months heard the power brick make a peep, its usually silent or downed out by the console itself, but this thing sounded like it was either ready to explode or take off!
I turned off the console and felt the brick, it was slightly warm, but nothing to really note of. Both the power brick and console are kept off the carpet, and in a very well ventilated place.
This happened late at night, in fact i was ready for bed and just wanted to finish that level so haven't really had the opportunity to have a proper look at the console, I did replay the level again, although it only took just over 15mins it seemed fine apart from a major pause between a cut scene and action at the end of the level, i thought it was going to crash again but it didn't.
So am i being over concerned, and should i take a crash as a thing that happens, or is this this sign of it being on its way out?
Thankfully i bought it at a local shop (not a specific games shop though) and should have no problem taking it back, only i do not want to give them my HD with my saves on, if i have to i'd rather just leave the console boxed and trade the thing in somewhere else for a PS3/psp or Wii or sell it completely.
Thanks for looking, i know you get a dozen of these a week, all comments appreciated.
Steven.
