360 - Current Hardware

Hi,

I'm thinking about getting a 360 today but just wanted to check a few things. Is the following true

1. No current hardware (in the shops) has the 65nm chips

2. The Elite has the improved cooling

3. Premium might have the improved cooling but it is hard to tell

4. If the Premium has HDMI then it will have the improved cooling. Are these actually in the shops now?

5. The improved cooling actually works and fail rates are now at sensible levels?

6. The quieter DVD drive may or may not be fitted. It's luck of the draw

Sounds like you have already done your home work.


1 - Not yet.

2 - Yes, it's supposed to have. Mine does.

3 - You can tell, there are guides on how on the net.

4 - Yes

5 - It's supposed to but only time will tell.

6 - My Elite had an Hitachi drive


Personally I would get either an Elite or the Premium with HDMI. Settle for nothing less.

6. The quieter DVD drive may or may not be fitted. It's luck of the draw True. I've had all 3 drives (the BenQ is in my Elite) and thell all sound the same to me, but i've never had them side by side
