Probably just rolling out in stages to avoid mass server load.

Uhh...it's been a basic feature of virtually any player of anything ever. To not be able to seek through songs is ridiculous. It's not nitpicking in the least.

The PS3 is nearly as bad, you can only do it at one speed on audio files.

I think his point was that people who use this feature are in the tiny minority in the grand scheme of things and that it really shouldn't be high up on MS's list of things to tweak/fix/improve. Doesn't matter if it's been a basic feature of "virtually any player of anything ever", point is that if it ever was sorted out it would only be of benefit to a handful of people*

(*obviously there are more than a handful, but you get the point)

As for the update, I've not received it yet (I have a jasper arcade) but my friend who has an old Elite got it on Monday??

I imagine they are in the tiny minority, seeing as it isn't even capable of doing it.

I can understand not being able to seek through tracks that you're streaming (i.e. LastFM) but it's absurd that they omitted such a basic feature for media on the HDD/external storage. Both the 360 and PS3 like to think that they're better at being 'media centres' than they really are.

Not everyone just listens to music all the time, what about podcasts or audio books? And besides, being into heavy metal and alternative rock you find a lot of tracks are around 10 minutes. you accuse me of nitpicking, I accuse you of being defensive for the sake of it.

My main gripe is with not being able to just copy music from pc, like the ps3. It's stupid
