yep not bad after about 4 hours of use in it's 4 months life span cheeez it's going back to bills storm troopers on monday.

I had not played it for a while due to the noise, it drove me mad but i thought i'll give it another go and got hold of GRAW2, she started locking up mm so i had a little hunt on the forum and see it happends on some 360s but after a while i thought i'll try another title just in case which was LostPlanet and hey this locked up as well and the drive was makeing a rather funney noise so back it goes.

But what i really want to do is go to were i got the said item and Hurt the manager which is still possible due to how i feel.

Get the store you bought it from to change it. You'll be much quicker than sending it back to MS and you'll get a new one.

I did think of doing that BUT i then thought due to the said store ww they would have prob not sold many and all so it's a core system so prob even less of them sold, there for i prob end up with Old stock new core system which is what i think i have now.

Hopefully ms will put new benq drive in it which will be lot more silent, i know it's a big IF but fingers crossed.

mine packed up the other week as well. Bought mine in November, probably played on it for about 60 hours in that time. Like you, was playing GRAW2 and the screen locked, so rebooted and it locked on the welcome screen, rebooted and got the three red lights = hardware failure.

Was quite chuffed really cause it was likely to happen and I was happy that it happened in the 12 months warranty.

I got mine from a well know high street retailer and they swapped it straight away no questions asked. Got another 12 months on it now. Would have added money to it and just got a PS3 if Mass Effect, Assasins Creed et al was not coming out on the 360. The games coming out on this baby over the next year make owning one worthwhile.

Chances are though, that you'll get a reconditioned unit and end up having to swap the 360 over 2/3 more times.

No he will get his own one back now, and I doubt you will get a new drive as they will just fix what is broken. If it's really broken and really only 4 months old then why on earth send it to MS at all

The reason is because thats what ww told me todo when i took the 360 back i tried quoting my rights e.t.c but they will not move. and no i dont want to go down the law route because by the time it's sorted i would have have had mine back from ms.

also i dont want a replacement from my branch because it will be old stock, were i come from they prob lucky they sold 10 in since it's been out
