My mates 360 has been a bit hungry and started to eat his crackdown disc, think he was playing the Halo 3 beta too much. Anyway he asked if i knew if he could get it replaced, the game not the 360. I had a look and I found this
http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/systemuse/xbox360/gameplay/discreplacement-games.htm
Looks like its only valid for a few games luckily for him Crackdown is one of them , looks like it cost £10 for a replacement. Has anyone used this service before if so how long does it take?

Looks like they are covering microsoft published games...never used it but looks interesting.

am not sure but i think it only applies to the US :(

It said its covered in any countries which have authorised retail distributors.

not trying to start some MS bashing, but it ****** me off that we have to pay £10 to play a game that we've already paid for, just because MS decided to put the cheapest crappest DVD drive in the console that ruins discs. And even worse, it's double what the yanks pay.

So far mine has killed Forza and Tiger Woods

They could have included Oblivion in there. The amount of times my mate has had his crash saying disc error is getting crazy now, and it's happened to me a few times. I know we are not the only ones also.

This problem in Oblivion is not the actual physical DVD though, its to do with the game data cached on the HDD that causes the 'clean the disc' message. Had the same issue myself so took game back and got a brand new disc, still same issue straight away. Had to wipe game data on HDD to get rid of it.

Ooh, now I can play PGR3 again after my disk died on me! Though for an extra £3 I can get it new these days anyway, and probably a hell of a lot quicker.
