360 drive tray colour

My first core system failed and went back to microsoft a month or so ago and I got sent a replacement, but only just noticed that this one has a white drive tray (same colour as rest of the system) but the one I had before had a grey (not chrome like the premium) drive tray..?? Not a problem I know just didnt know there were two different options,

Not heard of this but I do know that they changed the drive supplier so maybe that's why?

They have always had different drives. It's luck of the draw which one you get.

Nope. My core has a grey dvd tray with a white cover.

Think the OP post needs to be clear about whether this is the tray itself, or the bezel.

AFAIK the bezels have always been chrome for Premiums, and white for the Cores.

I wouldnt be surprised at the trays being different colours though.

He made it clear, he's talking about the "Tray" not the "Bezel". He mentioned tray in the topic.

I took that comment as him saying it's the tray, not the chrome 'thing'.
