360 dvd picture issues

Hi there,

My 360 has recently started playing up whilst playing dvds. The colour washes out for about 5-10 seconds, or sometimes disappears for about the same amount of time whilst the sound continues.

I have tried with games and the problems don't occur.

Anyone have any ideas?

It's more than likely just the way your particular 360 plays DVDs. The playback issues the 360 has are numerous, though a number were fixed when the dash was updated recently.

The only thing you can try is another connection method. Be it VGA instead of component, etc.

Other than that, by an upscaling DVD player (if you want HD).

I had a problem similair where i had banding on the playback of DVD over component.

For some reason the SD connection was set to Pal50 and the HD was at Pal60 once both were set to Pal60 it was all fine

Not a solution but maybe a hint of direction
