360 + Ethernet + Sky = Error

Has anyone had any issues with the SKY supplied router and home made wire (that works else where) going to the 360 not working at all?

I have a sky router, DG834GT. Is that the same one you are using?

Anyways, My 360 is working fine through it.

what's sky like for gaming on xbox live?

i hear they won't remove interleaving so that's why i won't join them at the moment.

No problems here with Live and Sky supplied DG834GT router either.

At first my pings were very bad. Had to phone again and again to get through to 3rd level support. Once I had got through and explained that I was a gamer and needed good pings, the very helpful chap changed a Max Delay setting for me on their system. My pings halved from ~80m/s to ~40m/s. So much better now, but I do find that I need to reboot the router every so often as I do notice everything slowing down quite a bit

I use the sky router and have no problems with live, I am not on Sky though.

360 + Ethernet + Sky = works fine
360 + Wireless adapter + Sky = works fine

/puts hat in front of the shop and gets out guitar to raise money for ste_bla's new ethernet cable

I think there's a few different types of ethernet cable with different wiring for different purposes. Maybe your home made one is the wrong type for that use.

Nah

Found out the issue, his sky router the bits that stick out to make contact are not as sticky outy as mine so had to use less pressure crimping it. MY wire was fine just rubbish sky/netgear
