Traded in my copy of COndemned yesterday and was quite amazed how much I got for it at GameStation (i'm pretty sure I can mention them can't I?)

£30!!! Bargain. I probably couldn't have got much more selling it on MM. Picked up a copy of Pro Evo5 with the cash cos I need a footy game and FIF06 RTWC is frankly garbage.

Thats the great thing with the prices of the new games being so high. It means we get a lot for trading in older ones. I traded in PGR3 for COD2 a while back now and got £32 towards COD2.

Just as an aside, do you think people would be interested in an online 360 game swap shop type service? eg, you browse all the 360 titles and choose one, pay a sum dependiing on the rating of the game you are wanting and the game you are trading in (eg between £5 and £15) and send your old game in to get the game of your choice?

Does such a service exist already? (online I mean - I know you can go to game/gamestation)

Recently I have to admit that I have taken a few games back to Game using the "10 day returns" policy they have.

I actually purchased PGR3 and played it for a few days but just did not like it enough to keep it (I rarely like racing games... sorry everyone who is about to scream at me) it was a great game... but I get bored of racing games quickly so just got my money back waiting for Elder Scrolls

i'd be more interested in somewhere that would allow a swap -> swap with a nominal fee for the trade. as sellin a £40-50 game for £30 is dire, and trading it in is just as bad if not worse.

yeah, i was thinking the same initially, which would work at the moment as all the games are new, but in a years time you'd end up with everyone wanting to swap fifa rtwc for halo 3, hence the category bit. ie at this point in time it would be a fiver incl postage as all games are new.......or would that still be too much?

wats more annoying is going into a shop in town getting £25 for king kong and looking in the "pre-owned" thing and to see em the same price as all the others! Completely pointless may as well just buy it brandnew

yeah, exactly.. But if you could swap your king kong for a title that came out about the same time for a fiver that would be attractive no?

It's a good idea. I sold my COD2 on Monday for £28. Would have soon rather swapped it for something like NFS:MW, King Kong, or one of the current titles available.

Surely you can't say it's as bad as you make out. You buy a game, (hopefully) get a load of enjoyment out of it, and then complain if you make a loss of £10 or so when selling it!!!!

You can't have things for free my friend.

its because of the high price on buying it at like £40-50. if it was all £40 it aint so bad, but some games are more expensive. i guess your right tbh i think im just moaning about a loss. :(
i dunno its just when you think about it if you bought pc games, the most you'd pay is £25 and less online, while these consoles are rediculously more expensive for they're games double the price in some cases.

I see your point but you have to take into account this when buying a new console. Although the games are far higher priced than pc games the quality of the graphics are on par with a pc costing a grand, but your only paying a couple of hundred squid for your hardware. I don't know if it's true but I heard most companies initially make a loss on the release of the hardware and have to make up the loss with software sales.
