Does anyone know when is the 360 HD DVD drive is out in the uk?

Toshiba's HD DVD players come out in mid November, so, with any luck, they'll be out a little later.

Eurogamer posted something like this but this is not an offical pricepoint, more what retaillers considered it could be bundled with 2x films.

Expect an announcement at the Barcelona show soon.

Anyway, If the HD-DVD playback from the 360 is any good, i'd consider getting one if HD-DVD became the dominant format for next gen DVDs.

the hddvd drive will be out december the first at £119.99

we will see tomorrow for sure though.

£119 I am sold, I bought a Sony DVD burner for my PC for £200 and it broke after 13 months

I think they will release some games in HD, If they sell a lot of HD Drives they would be stupid not to release a HD game.

Yeah. I'm not even looking at getting a HDTV until mid 2007 so I doubt I'll be buying the drive just yet. Hope it succeeds though, can see it doing much better then blueray anyway.

As for games, MS have repeatedly said no. I too can see USB causing problems for games, unless they come up with a newer revision 360 with the drive built in, in future except thats quite a long way away for now.

It wont matter, nothing wrong with switching over to a second DVD9 disc half way through a 60 hour game is there?

All games are HD already on the 360

MS wont release a HD-DVD game as they will alienate a lot of the existing 360 customers.
Simple as really.
If they do, they'll have a game on their hands that can only be played by a fraction of their customers.

Yup, unless they give away the HD-DVD drive in cornflake packets, it'll always be that way, it's going to be bad enough when games that require the HDD come out and people with the core moan that they need to buy an expensive addon.
