Hi all, im fed up with only having a 20gb drive, and I cant really afford to shell out the premium prices Microsoft are charging for their bigger drives :(

I stupidly rushed out and brought a 250gb Hitatchi drive for just over £30. When I whipped out the xbox hdd and connected it to my pc so I could clone it across, it kept saying not a valid source (using norton ghost). I guess this might have something to do with the xbox drive being locked in some way?

I have searched the net a hell of a lot but can only really find old info regarding the WD blue series of drives and hddhackr.

I cant see why I cant just make a copy of the original 20gb drive on my new drive?

If anyone has any advice it would be greatly apprieciated.

Cheers

I don't know the ins and outs of it. But it is supposed to be locked to stop you from putting your own harddrive in.

I personally last year bought an Elite bundle, then sold the new games and my old Premium, which gave me an upgrade for not very much money.

You can also see what's happening now with the new Xbox being released, as that will lower the prices of the Elite and many are bound to turn up for sale also.

As of right now you can only use the WD "bev" series we can't discuss it here.
If you need to ask about the WD to spoof to a official 360 drive give me a PM.

@ vonhelmet not been proved yet and I'm pretty sure the community sites I've been to would've been reporting that
so no you won't get banned.
Using my WD one for half a year now.
