360 HDMI Cable Question

isnt there a quick fix solution for the hdmi audio out problem? involves using the original av cable and plugging in the hdmi cable together or something to that affect?
cant find it anywhere but im sure there's a diy fix?
if so has anyone here tried it?

Yep, you can butcher the standard cable to allow it to be connected at the same time as an HDMI lead.

ah might give this a try.
i have a component cable and an hdmi cable....i take it you can remove the casing and both will fit, then leave the component cable disconnected from the tv (hdmi to tv and audio out to the receiver)?
cheers,
steve.

yeah i know the hdmi cables are all the same but i would rather output the audio to my receiver than carry the sound to the tv and through the tv's rather poor speakers :(

You peeps not got a HDMI receiver yet? Think I have had mine for nearly a couple of years. It's awesome. Plug the 360 into the amp and then HDMI from amp to TV!
