360 hdmi cable?

hey all
does anyone know if you can get one of these? im using component at the minute but would be good to free that up and use the hdmi socket.
why have they not made one though? i cant believe that its easier to buy another 360 (elite) just to have one.
so any ideas?

Nah the normal 360 doesn't support HDMI.

You'd have to wait till the Elite is released.

This company is making one and it should be available in two months.

Weird because I thought the current 360 couldn't support digital video output :confused:

it wont be a proper HDMI output, asin it wont output uncompressed digital signals

That was never confirmed nor denied.

I can be sure that that third party lead is just a converter, not a real HDMI lead.

Microsoft wouldn't let a third party release an HDMI before them if the 360 was capable.

It isn't a pucka HDMI cable, it is just a cable with an HDMI connection on the end. IIRC the HDMI specification said cables need to be standard HDMI at both ends, so that one could possibly find itself in hot water at some point.

Also it only does 1080i so looks like it will just be a built in Component converter.
