360 Headset (never) not working. Reccomendations?

As title really, the traditional 360 headset has never worked (to my knowledge) and recently started playing a bit more live, and could use one. SO, wondered what people reccomended (wired or wireless, not worried) but as i wont use it much the cheaper (but useable) the better.

If it could work on my PC that would be a bonus as well!

I'd definetly recommend wireless, I can always tell when my mates have changed to wired as their voice becomes much more muffled and quieter. The wireless mic lasts a long time when fully charged and I can roam my room talking without carrying the controller. Can usually go dowanstairs too without signal failing!

Are you sure it's the headset that's broken? I thought mine wasn't working, until I tried a different headset which also didn't work, and it turned out to be the pad at fault. Tried them both on another pad and both worked perfectly fine.
 
well, i did try it on 2 pads, but only in-game will check it by sending a message instead.

wireless is looking promising then. I read i can use this with my PC wireless adapter too, need to find a bargain one then.
 
My mate had a loada trouble with his supplied mic.

He wasnt able to get it working in a month or so so bought a wireless one, which refused to charge lol.

I went over, we have been using GFWL as well and had that set to mute the Mics as we use vent. The settings had only moved over to his xbox too xD

lol should have seen his face xD
 
I prefer the shipped wired headset over my official wireless headset. You have to almost shout into the mic for it to pick up your voice and the sound quality in the ear piece isn't as good imo.
 
How loud is the wireless mic in terms of playback and not recording?

The reason I ask, is that I have an old type official headset (the type where to mute it, was on the connector to the controller and not on the wire it's self), and it's very veery quiet and generally hard to hear people.

I do have a spare wired mic, but due to the placement of the mute button, I tend not to use it. And yes the volume is turned up full!

Where's the mute button on the wireless Mic?

What prices are they roughly going for? :)
 
My original wired headset is fantastic, I actually prefer it over my official wireless headsets. I'm using an X4 these days though which is brilliant.
 
Cheers Wyrdo. I'll have a look around and see about picking one up. The lack of volume through my headset is annoying me!

Yeah the wireless headsets are quite poor in comparison. Add to that their weight, battery concerns, price and sync issues (the reason I sold mine) and they end up being terrible value for money.
 
the wireless ones are much clearer, but they start to hurt my ear after a bit and the fact you can't charge while using is annoying as hell.

I'm on my 3rd wired headset at the min, the other 2 broke, were repaired, then broke again, the solder connections on some of them do appear to be pretty brittle, not to mention how taught hte wires are/become inside the casing!
 
Personal preference then, I hate wearing the wired ones, I hate the wire dangling down, I hate where the mute button is now (on the actual wire rather than where it plugs in, or is that just the Elite one?) and the build quality is shizer.

Had my wireless one nearly two years, used regularly, its great.
 
I liked the wireless ones at first but they hurt my big ears :p I need a bigger loop thing rather than the medium size one it comes with.

I haven't used one of the newer wired ones with the mute on the wire, I'm still using my original one from launch day when I'm not using my X4s at night.
 
Behave Andy, you might as well not have a wireless one! You never use the mico n it and only listen to me jabber down the mic over fifa at you! :p
