Well...it's not the 3 lights of death.

DSCF5252.jpg

It started last night on GTA IV, was playing a mission and the screen did this and made a noise which sounded similar to white noise. Started playing this morning and the screen went black. Did the same with with GTA IV before and now when I loaded the new Battlefield: Bad Company demo, the same white noise sound with the screen above.

This is a replacement console from MS because my first got the 3 lights of death, so what is the deal regarding warrenty? Is it from the time of original purpose or when I got the replacement?

Anybody got any idea what this problem could be?

Thanks

GPU is failing. I would 'assume' you get the standard years warrenty as it's a new machine, so if you're within a year of getting the replacement, if not, it's very possible the machine won't actually RRoD, in which case you're gonna have to pay.

Of course there is the option of forcing it to overheat, but it's up to your moral stand point to decide if you want to go that route.

GPU memory is corrupted, this happens primarily on PCs if the user provides inadequete heating. You'll probably get the 3 red rings of death in that case sooner or later.

edit: heating? D'oh - I meant cooling >.<

Yep my third 360 died like this! I just bought a new one from a supermarket and took my broken one back the next day! Bit naughty I know but saves waiting! ;)

Oh dear. Looks like I might be going onto my third 360. I had a similar thing yesterday.

Yurp there was another thread with a picture of just the same type of corruption a couple of days ago. I've seen it too: your 360 is heading towards the er, red light.

It's because the xbox can sense some sony equipment in the bottom right corner of the picture and is attempting to use its thermal energy to kill the sony device.

Basically, GPU is failing, it's going to die soon.

He has a point, it was a bit silly placing something sony near the Xbox, war could only follow.

its silly that people are onto their 4th+ 360 console,

very strange brand loyalty, as soon as mine broke i moved to the "dark side" and its been solid as a rock
