360 no video output!!

I just turned on my 360 and it won't output any video to my monitor. I have it connected using a VGA cable (official). The sound comes though fine via optical connection to my amp.

I have tried connecting it to my TV via composite but that just shows a few lines on the screen and has no sounds at all.

Anyone had this problem before? Does it mean my 360 is busted?!

have you been messing with the resolution try this....

Swich your 360 on and hold down Y

Tried it, no luck, still no output, just a blank (black) screen. I can hear the menus and stuff in the background as I move stuff with the controller. I googled it and apparently this has happened to other people but no information on how to sort it out.

Anyone else know of this problem?

does not sound good, if its not working with 2 different leads then it sound like it needs a repair
