360 Not finding wirelss remote

Have two 360's and two wireless remotes - but the new one wont "find" any of the 360's?

Any ideas

sorted it by plugging the play and charge thing into it-but surely there is another way? (and yes i have tried the arrows on the joypad)

Is it a remote or a gamepad?

have you pressed the white button on the console, then HELD DOWN the little white button (nearLB Button) on the controller to sync them?

The white button on the console, as in the ring of lights or whatever its called?

Do i have to do that simultaneously?

No white button that is near Memory Slot B

1. Press that button (white button near mem unit b)

2. you should see the circular rings on the console flash

3. press and HOLD the little white button on controller near LB

4. after a few seconds they should link

5. voila
