It had been so long since I played I really didn't notice any difference; it still looks great! Maybe loading times are faster though I didn't think they were bad in the first place.

I'd recommend Shivering Isles but maybe wait till you've leveled your character a fair bit first.

Oblivion + Sofa + Beer for the win.

Oblivion + Sofa + Beer for the belly.

Fixed !

The patch did improve the loading times, but other than that I must confess I've failed to see any other changes/improvements.

Like yourself I originally played Oblivion on the PC, however, 70 hours into the 360 version I'm still loving it. There is just something about using a big comfy chair and 42" screen that makes me want to explore the world more than I ever did before.

now THAT'S what I'M talking about.

good stuff Phat Momma Hoe! that's just what i'm looking forward to. playing a good RPG in comfort on a big screen.

only thing i remember about the initial reviews of the game on the 360 were bad framerates in some areas.. is that still true?

Not that I've really noticed. It was noticable the first time that I played it, the outdoor areas just didnt move around as smooth as it used to on my PC but I soon got used to it.

To be honest, I'm actually suprised at how well it runs on the 360. I know it only had to be written for 1 peice of hardware but when oblivion came out on PC I had a monster system and it still struggled in places.

Overall I would say Oblivion was a triumph considering the 360's spec. I think you will probably be very happy with how it runs and looks, as it is very pretty on a nice high def 42" :D

I still have all the expansion bits to look forward to running through yet, downloaded them from the marketplace but I've been finding so much to do in just the regular game that I havent set foot in any of the other bits so far.
The game is superb, I'm sure you will enjoy every minute of it.

Had this back at release and loved it. Sold it a bit back but with the PS3 talk it's got my wanting it again. I'd get the PS3 version but I've got a fairly large save game on the 360, so tempted to pick that up. It's cheap enough if you look in the right places these days. Oh the temptation. :p

I've clocked up over 200 hours on mine since release... still haven't finished the main quest yet lol! :D

I think I need to turn the difficulty up a few notches now though as my character is double hard and I have a lot of the most powerfull and rare items, like the Ring of Perfection, etc.

Great game!

As regards for the patch, I play the game without it. I used to have problems with the game keep freezing, so I took it off and play without it problem free :)

Try the sofa and a 100" HD screen and you ain`t going nowhere ! lol

How recent was this patch then? I am looking for an excuse to get back into this game so a slight improvement in performance might be it.

Tempted to pick this up but I've always been put off by the amount of time needed to play it. But lately I've been hankering after something slightly different so I might see if I can get someone to buy it for my birthday for me.

Go for it, well worth it ;)

Started playing this game again, I forgot how good it was, I am still well overwhelmed with how much you can do and go but then I guess thats why its so good! I think the patch has help a fair bit definately lowered load times and the draw distance is better.

Re-bought this today. Done the update and it seems very chpppy, not at all like I remember. What was the button you had to press to clear the cache? If it's like this all the time I'll get the PS3 version and just start again.
