We have been given an older Plasma at work and I'm trying to get my 360 to run on it. It has no component inputs but has a dvi connection.

When I plug in the 360 which I use at home on component with the VGA cable and DVI adapter I get a black screen. I can hear the 360 boot up but get no picture.

Is this because the settings on my 360 are set to component from home? How do I get to the VGA settings If all I get is a black screen?

The tv probabily doesnt have the hardware to convert it like gfxs cards do the xbox should auto switch to the source it dectects u probabily need a hdmi-dvi cable

When running at home do you force it to run in a higher resolution?

Plug it into a screen you know it works on then put resolution right down to the bottom and find out the optimal res for the work monitor, then run it at that.

I couldnt get my brother outlaws TV to work with a VGA converter, however a Component to DVI adaptor got it working.

Is your Xbox HDMI, I think thats they way Id go.

We finally got it to work by nipping to asda and buying a universal remote for the tv. It turns out the plasma had a pc mode and once we switched it to that it worked.

We then ran in some speakers, so have 50 inch gaming goodness at work :D

We had a game of left4dead on split screen and I have to say I hated it, no matter how big a screen is I just cannot share it.
