Just a quickie... I have one of these for my 360 and was wondering if i could leave it plugged in while the console is off and will it still charge? Alternately will it charge if i plug it into my pc usb port as i have one machine on all the time...

Ta.

The console will stay in a standby mode until the controller is fully charged. So as long as the console is plugged into the wall, you should be okay.

Also, yes you can charge using a normal PC/Laptop USB connection.

Cheers guys... May as well plug it into the pc rather than having anything else on... :)
If you turn off the 360 by the controller then it sits in stand by until the controller is fully charged and then turns the console off.

yep you can for both, i posted about this when i first got mine!

i choose not to leave it on charge overnight via the 360 tho, as the PSU in mine is kept on to charge it obviousley, and mine makes a bit of noise, so i just charge it up on my computer when not using it ;)

I love how the 360 is so compatible with USB stuff, my PC is on most nights so I just pop it on charge through that instead, pretty clever how the 360's fans stay spinning slowly when the plug and charge kit is in also. (If the console is off.)

Does this also mean that when i plug the 360 pad into my pc via usb it can be used as a wired 360 pad and used in games within xp? is there a special driver for it as i plugged the pad it but it did not recognise it.

Nope doesnt work like that, the play and charge cable only charges. No data is sent down it, it still connects wirelessly to the 360. You need a fully wired pad to use it on the PC.
