Just wondering what console everyone would rather buy the majority of their games for and why if they had both consoles, or only one but didn't care about the exclusives. I own a 360 but i think it has too many fps games, i play those on pc and much prefer it for fps..

but what about other games? i admit i rarely touch consoles lately but i recently preordered sonic generations and would like to play my 360 a bit more.

Why doesn't Rare make new games like they did on the 64? Conker etc.. i think the 360 is missing a bit in adventure/platform games. Maybe i should get Kameo since i've never played it. I know many say the 360 controller is only good for fps games, but it sounds like a load of rubbish to me as it's very similar to the dreamcast controller and i never had a problem with that

If someone didn't care about exclusives then i imagine 360 would be the logical choice as the majority of multiplats run the same or better than they do on the PS3.

However overlooking exclusives when buying a console is a pretty massive oversight.

I buy all the 3rd party games on the 360 as I prefer the controller and I'm more into the xbox community.

Re. Rare. Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts is actually a very good game.

The PS3/360 are pretty much close now with newer games as not to make it an issue TBH, but most of the older games run better on 360. Be careful though when it comes to a 360 make sure its a 250GB version, with games like BF3 you need to install the HD Texture pack to the hard disk as its on 2 disks, the PS3 installs off the 1 BD. To me though the exclusives are what make the console choice rather than MP games that are 99% the same now, as does the other features the console gives.

I wonder if the same parity will exist in the next-gen.

I read an interesting article that says the PS4 will be underpowered compared the next Xbox as Sony don't want to make an expensive console again. That's why they are snapping up software studios in order to make exclusives knowing the multiplatform games will not be as good.

Ive also read the new xbox will only be a small update from the 360, TBH we dont have a clue .

The only thing on PS3 that may interest me is probably uncharted, then i am not really sure as i've never played it.. looks like tomb raider and i didn't have much patience for that on the ps1 :p so it's probably not worth me rebuying a ps3 just for that.

I still think the 360 has too many fps games though, definitely needs more adventure games.

I imagine the next gen consoles would be fully backwards compatible with this gen as well. But then who knows because slowly that's been getting screwy as well.

Oh i have the original fat white 360 :p

I prefer the 360, but if it was for exclusives, then ps3 wins everytime :D

Pretty much this. Although certain game types dont feel right with the 360 pad, Fighters and Hack and Slash games. So although visually inferior sometimes, I prefer to pick up PS3 versions for the pad.

Trying to play Castlevania on 360 at the moment, And I find myself getting confused by the pad\controls. Never had that issue with hack and slash games on the PS3. And when I think about it, I've not really played many on 360.

I own both and having been very much a PS3 gamer I've now moved over to the 360. I prefer the controller, I prefer the dashboard and how the console in general feels more than just something that plays games.

That being said though I will still look as to what the lead platform is for a game and generally make my decision from that, Battlefield 3 for example the PS3 is the lead console platform for that and by the looks of screens/videos it looks to run a lot better than it's 360 alternative. MW3 on the other hand I'm getting for the 360.
