Hi my 360 just RROD'd so im filling in the on-line form after reading the very useful thread on here but it says its going to cost me £57.99 to have it repaired even though its only 18 months old.

Is this right ? Is it not free to have the console repaired ?

RROD is covered by 3 years, I think you have to phone up though instead of doing it online.

As far as the website is concerned, your 360 is out of warranty which is why a price is quoted.

edit - CONFIRMED! :p

I managed to sort my latest RRoD (on a console out of standard warrenty) on the website as I couldn't phone them.

It's much easier to sort it by phone though. ;)

I sent an out of warranty xbox off yesterday for the 3 red lights error. The website said it was out of warranty in August, but I chose "Yes" in the "Does your console display 3 red flashing lights" drop down box and carried on with the process. The cost of repair was listed as £0.00 when it got to that stage.

Mine was out of warranty when it got 3 red rings and I got it done for free online.

Was back 6 days later all shiny and new with a free 3 year warranty!

How on earth do you lot manage to RROD your consoles? Mine wont die, had graphical corruption since August with a brief spell of E74 error and its back and running again. Ive tried overheating it, dropping it from waist high, jamming things through the fans and poking metal in to try and short it out. Stupid "faulty" xbox's. I refuse to pay £60 when all I need is 3 lights for a free repair.

Guys im confused ?

You should recieve an email telling you everything in due course.

You'll also recieve an email with a UPS label, print this and stick it to the box.

Got the emails, with links to a label and reciept.

SO i jsut put the console in a box with the label on and my address written on the side then i arrange for UPS to come pick it up ?
