360 Scratched games

Hi, I had a 360 for christmas and I was playing COD3 and I heard a strange grinding noise. I checked the disc and there were many circular scratches all over the disc. I checked the rest of the discs and they were all scratched in the same way

I returned the 360 to the shop with my games and they are replacing them, but didnt have GOW or COD3 in stock, so I got to wait now. They play fine but I'm not happy with all the scratches and stuff on it.

IIRC, Samsung drives are the quietest? I had a Samsung in my old one, but my new one has a Hitachi/LG and it's cooler overall and much quieter.

Check your games regularly! If I hadn't heard the faint grinding noise, I may have not realised until about £300 worth of games were ruined. :eek:

Is the 360 on a perfectly flat surface with nothing underneath it like manuals etc? When walking near it does the surface move or bend at all? Could be a faulty 360, could be a poorly placed 360, either way it sucks but I'm glad to hear the shop is replacing everything.

Happened to my Farcry. I got it secondhand though, so maybe it was like that before. Not really sure and no other discs have had this problem. I have a fairly new box too (third replacement).

We'll see.
