360 Setup...

Before you ask i've had a wee browse through the FAQ and it doesnt really directly cover what im after. Basically im new to the whole 360 scene, simply put, i dont have a clue what to buy or whats a "good deal". As my original xbox was 'modded' into a media center im interested in sorting this out on the 360, but im not sure what's involved in setting this up. In simple terms, I wanna transfer music & videos over from my PC and store it on the xbox, possible? Anyway, i've had a little browse a few online retailers, namely the four letter online store, and sourced the following hardware:

(Bundle)

- Xbox 360 Premium Console.
- Gears of War.
- Crackdown.
- Pro Evolution Soccer 6.
- £289.99.

(Extras)

- Xbox 360 Wireless Controller.
- Gamexpert Cooler King.

- Total: £332.97.

Good deal? Anything else I need? (360 is going to be used on a whopping 47" HDTV aswell)

I'm not sure about how to set up a live account either, I take it that all the required hardware is contained within the premium box? What about membership?

Dump that cooler thing for a start.

Apart from that the bundle looks great. At the moment I only own 3 games on 360 after owning over 20. By sheer coincidence they happen to be the 3 you are buying. If you look around you may get a bundle with more extras, but you will get worse games.

Worth checking what connectivity you have on your TV in terms of getting cables. The premium will have component cables included. Other method of getting HD from your 360 are VGA.

In regards to Live its sub based you buy your subs over 1,3 or 12 months think it is.

you pay for it via credit card or a scratch card in most stores just enter details on the live dashboard.

12 month sub is £40 may be cheaper online but you do get 1 month free

Does the premium console come with a subscription?

You sign up to a sliver account which will give you 1 month free gold. or you can buy the Gold sub right away if you want

A silver account you can download stuff from the marketplace but you just cant play online games (the silver account is free)

Gold which you pay for you will get the full hog, Online gaming the lot.
Hope that makes sence
