360 slim replacement hdd`s?

Hi all
My 360 slim has been playing up recently and i thought it was the hdd playing up. I put my old hdd from my elite in the slim and it worked fine confirming my suspicions.

My question is: I`ve seen third party replacement drives on various shops that come in the black casing.

Has anyone used them and can you please give me your experience with replacing slim hdds as i really dont want to just stick a pc one in there as it felt really iffy to me even though it worked with my 360 elite drive.

I'd like to know too. The MS drives are too dear lol.

Basically all the hard drives available for the slim are Western Digital models. ( not all but im sure google will help you ) TBH the black casing is just that, casing. A 250gb off ebay will be the same as a 250gb from Microsoft.

Edit - seems that some seagate and maxtor work also but i think they are from earlier revisions of xbox http://xboxdrives.x-pec.com/?p=list&l=1

The link you've posted is to do with the original xbox, as far as I know!
