360 stood up

i would rather have my 360 stood up but some games like grid and pgr4 make a lot more noise than most when they are loading.

apart from being quite irritating will or can it damage my xbox?

It will damage the disk if the machine is knocked while running, but apart from that, it's designed to stand vertically just as much as sit horizontally.

Its more likely that a minor knock will cause the 360 to scratch the disc, whereas laid down the risk is largely reduced.

thanks, its never been knock or anything like that. i guess some games make more noise when loading then.

I've had mine upright since launch with no problems, only had one disc scratched and that was when my idiot sister decided to pick it up and move it around while it was turned on :rolleyes:

I can't have mine vertical, as most of the discs take 10 mins to load etc.

Once we get the next update you wont need to load from disc so you wont have this problem any more. Just be patient.

You will be able to install games to the HDD, it sounds like you will dump a complete image of the DVD, and then it loads from that, although you still need the DVD in the drive for a quick authentification check.

ah, is it going to be like installing a game on a pc cus if it is we'll all need bigger hhd's, 2,3 or 4 games and a 20gig drive will be almost full.

Installing is the wrong word to use. It should be "copy". As you're just creating a disc image.

Well, I guess that's a fair point. But lack of a problem leads me to believe if i had it the other way there would be no difference
