Died monday night, been freezing on and off for a couple of weeks, monday night it passed away.
It was a replacement unit for one purchased 18 months ago.
Couldnt be bothered with rining microsoft for a replacement, binned it and bought a reconditioned one for £115 inc p&p.
Was in 2 minds whether to bother or not, but then i added up i've spent £800 on games for it so might as well.

They are just so badly made its untrue.

I went to see transformers the other night and theres one scene where a 360 transforms into a robot. you don't actually see what happens to it after that though, although it more than likely just got RROD and died in the street :p

What bits do you want?
I tried taking apart myself on monday night at about 10 pm but couldnt even get the stupid plastic case off.

truly lol'd

Should have got Microshaft to replace it as you may have just bought another borked one if its been reconditioned, as it may still have the defect, Microshaft are replacing them all now with new ones which don't have the defects as they confirmed a while ago now that the 360 was indeed borked due to a defect.

I know, but for £98 before the postage its not a great deal, plus as i said i wasnt going to bother with it all. its the cost of a decent night out so its no as if i'm breaking the bank doing it.

well as mentioned there is a guide, but if you got it all in one piece i wouldnt mind having it all to take a look at, as some components are useless without others, for example a dvd drive you need to extract a special key

To get the case off its easy once you know how!

Get the faceplate off and the hard drive and each grey top things and open the latched and pull it open about an inch and place it on the floor so it doesnt close on its own.

Get a small screwdriver, the really small chrome metal ones, and place it in the little tiny rectangular holes (DONT PRY) and hit the top of the screwdriver with a in a swift manner and you should hear a click. If you do all of them its it come apart!
