Kindly got sent a 360 transfer cable via a lovely ocuk member.

So I went to transfer everything across, HDD connected to cable and usb in the new xbox....apparently there is meant to be a popup and then things can be kicked off.

However no popup happens and I cant see the HDD connected in the memory settings, anyone have any ideas why this could be happening? Im able to get on xbox live so im guessing I have the latest software

System Settings - Memory - Highlight the source HDD - Click Y for Device options, select transfer

Also believe the USB cable has to be connected to the rear of the Xbox, not one of the front ports.

Is it a 3rd party cable or an original MS one? If it's 3rd party, then it doesn't work right and you can only use it to connect to a PC, and try moving things to the PC then on to the new disk, and even that doesn't work brilliantly.

I nuked a hard disk by hooking it up with a 3rd party cable to the front USB port and then formatting it... It formatted it down to 16GB, as it does with external drives, and then I couldn't get it back to the full 120GB. Be careful!

Afraid it isn't registering as visible on that and yup using the back ports. Its the official MS number, will see my luck transfering to my lappy first
