There are rumours that you'll be able to stream movies from WMP 11 beta(no need for MCE), once the update is done.

Remember that apps/games produced via XNA will most possibly have to go through an MS certification process. I'm sure MS wouldn't want any unchecked bit of code lose on their consoles.

If you have Windows MCE 2005 there is a 3rd party browser available somewhere.
