360 Update Tomorrow :O

i still cant make my mind up if my colours look washed out on my hanns-g 19"ws using the MS VGA cable, plus i swear sometimes things look squashed no matter what res i set it to in the console...really bugging me of late as im starting to think im missing out on better quality.
 
It is good to hear that no-one here suffered the fatal "E 71" error after updating the dashboard via Xbox Live. As over on the xbox forums, a lot of people had dead xboxes as the update would only go to 99%, hang, say failed update and then restart and come up with the E71 error.

Apparently it effected only the new consoles and the refurbished consoles or consoles that did not get the spring update from MS. People were buying 360's from game, going home setting up, updating and a dead 360. Took it back, did the same again and a dead 360 again.

Microsoft are suppose to be fixing it.
 
Just bought a new 360 today (wish I'd never sold my old one really), but been doing a bit of reading both here and on avforums, and a quick question, should I refrain from connecting up to live and updating for a while? - I don't really want to kill it, considering I only bought it today.

Apparently, according to people on the official xbox forums the update is now fixed and working correctly. People say it works and Major Nelson in his blog has said it is OK now, the only thing you can do is update it, as live is great. Mine had all updates so it went OK (touch wood)
