360 Update - Whats It For

Hi there, just had a 360 software update at half 2pm today

I'm assuming it's just background bugs and fixes etc, anyone know any specifics?

Does this fix the annoying issue where the 360 sends sound through the HDMI cable despite the fact I'm using optical sound?

It's so annoying having to mute my TV every time I switch to the 360.

PS3 is set up the same way and has no issues!

I use HDMI and don't know what your talking about, my sound is fine

It didn't seem to affect everyone, but quite a lot of people were experiencing an issue with no sound via HDMI, when it was fine before the NXE update. My audio is fine via HDMI, but clearly that's not the case for everyone.

mine is worse now literally no issues before with HDMI

I can't hear speech in my games :O

for example fifa09 and cod5

i'm so perplexed by it

mine sends sound through HDMI as well as optical, i'm glad it does so that i can just use the TV sound in the quieter occasions and the optical (through sound system) for when i'm wanting some serious sound

just wish my PS3 would do like wise.

This was strange as, my sound is working on the Television upstairs (HDMI) yet it doesn't work on the television downstairs (HDMI)... haven't tested if it works yet though.

Just updated but me and a few mates are having issues with lag now that we have updated.

And xbox.com seems very slow... strange!
