360 Verticle Scratching

Ok, I have heard that if you have the Xbox 360 on its side it can scratch the disks.

Is this correct, and if so can i claim them back from MS?

No, having it upright does not scratch discs, it was designed to be in that position. It can scratch discs if you move or knock the 360 whilst a disc is spinning.

Mine has been vertical for about 2 years and I've never had a scratched disc.

There's a higher chance of it being knocked in the direction it needs to be to scratch discs if it's upright, so keeping it flat is a better idea unless you're sure you're not going to knock it.

As said above however, there's no reason for it to scratch discs simply due to it being upright.

Thanks, thats great news, ive just moved house and i had to leave by HUGE desk behind and now just have the big one. and the case, 21" crt, X-HD, Xbox 360, Modem, Mouse and Kboard, it all looks a bit clutered, i need to sort some space from somewhere.
