I'm trying to switch my Xbox 360 connection from Component to VGA but I can't get it to work.
Whenever I plug the VGA cable in I get a 'mode not supported message' on screen. I've tried using all the available resolutions using component then switching over to VGA but still no picture.

I used to have it working before but I can't remember what I'm doing wrong.
Any ideas.

When you plug the VGA in it sounds like its defaulting to another resolution that the monitor/tv doesnt support, I dont know where the 360 has cable dependant or independant video output options. If you can, try plugging it into a larger monitor and adjusting down from there.

Switch on the console with your first (top left quadrant on the controller display iirc) controller and hold the Y and Right Trigger button down as it switches on.

This will reset the video output to its default settings which hopefully will bring back a picture. You can then set the desired resolution.

I don't own a 360 and this is from memory so dont blame me if it doesn't work!
