360 VGA Cable Question

Hey all,

I was able to grab a 360 VGA cable for my xbox off of a certain auction site ¬_¬'

If one of you has one of these cables please would you take out the VGA cable and look in the middle of the pins.

My one has the name "Foxconn" right in the middle of the pins - I just wanted to make sure that others had this and that I haven't some rubbish fake.

Another thing is - are there two different types of VGA cable? Because the one I brought doesnt say HD in the title and when I got to change the display settings on my 360 it says:

"You must connect an xbox 360 HD AV cable to configure high definition display modes."

However I am able to get my resolution to:
1920 x 1080
Widescreen
Expanded

Any help on this would be great

I can't see Foxconn on mine, I cant see any writing near the pins (where it plugs into the 360)

Mine says Microsoft with their holographic sticker (same as controller) on the top.
Then
Xbox 360Tm VGA AV Cable
MICROSOFT CORPORATION
For use with Xbox 360 console etc on the other side

Mind has all of that but when you look directly into the pins - I can see "Foxconn".

It looks legit but I was just making sure...

Not sure why it would say about the HD thing on my xbox though

your resolution is fine though as long as its working fine then no need to worry

I just want to make sure that it's all running in HD.
Is there anyway to test it?

Go into the controls on your monitor, most will say the current resolution it is running at.

My cable doesn't have Foxconn written, however..

Okay go easy with me - because now im totally freakin annoyed (And other more offensive words...)

I just turned on my 360 and got a RROD.

Had my 360 now for just over a year ¬_¬'

Any way to recover or is it dead?

you get the extended warranty on RROD with microsoft so no worries

Send it off as soon as you can and you'll get it back as soon as you can.

You might find it'll boot once every few tries, but it'll get worse and worse.

Only thing to do is get it sent off and find something else fun to do.

Okay I feel like a right royal idiot but let me explain

I saw the "RROD" but it turned out to be a complete full circle instead of the traditional 3 RROD.

When a full circle of red appears it just means the video cable has popped out - and indeed it had

Mine doesnt say it but mine was a Launch day cable, they have changed there cables a lot since then. It should have a Microsoft hologram on it if it's legit.

I know for a fact Microsoft use foxconn for there cables in the xbox though, most cables inside the actual xbox say foxconn on.
