Hi guys im currently using a VGA connection for my 360 using the second from bottom res, but i have HDMI port! Should i use HDMI or stick with VGA? My t.v is like 16 months old now so it is not hardcore enough for 1080p! Only 1080i or the other way around

Try it and see, different TV's give different results and different people just prefer one to the other. In theory there shouldn't be much difference in overall image quality.

I get a slightly sharper image from HDMI over VGA or Component. All 3 give different images so I could understand how people would have a preference for either.

HDMI cable wise, Is it true what people say?

Because it's digital, A £5 cable is essentially the same as a £25 cable? So cable quality won't hurt the display

Yep, although you still get some fools stating otherwise. You either get a perfect picture or obvious corruption like "sparklies" or complete loss of signal.

A friend of mine just paid £75 for a monster gold ninja superstar HDMI cable from comet.

I cried.

I have personally found HDMI to be slightly sharper than VGA in all my games bar one.

RB6:Vegas for some reason outputs like a blurred mess on VGA yet perfectly fine on HDMI. (I have tried this on both my HDTV and my PC monitor with the same results)

Only slightly related, sorry.

I recently got an HDTV, my 360 is now plugged into it (was previously plugged into a PC monitor) through component but do you think it would be worth trying it with my VGA cable? Would there be any significant difference in picture quality? My 360 looks really good at the moment through component but I wouldn't want to miss a trick if VGA is better ;)

The TV is only a 32" and doesn't support 1080p

Cheers :)

VGA is better than component imo. Plus component doesnt up scale normal DVD's whereas HDMI and VGA do (And full 1080p on HD-DVD's but that wont effect you :) ) and also if you do, VGA should have the correct screen resolution, probably 1366x768.
