360 video not playing fully

Hi, While trying to play back a few xvid files, the xbox recognises some of them as being only 9 mins, 15 mins long even though they are half hour episodes. They play fine on the PC, why does the xbox not recognise the entire file? :confused:

Is there anything to fix it?

Try installing DivX7 on your PC in conjunction with WMP.

no no, this is on the xbox 360 console itself. While reading the xvid AVI's off a memory stick, for some reason it see's the 25 minute program as being 9 mins long..when it reaches 9 mins, it goes back to the dashboard. Is there something wrong with the video files themselves? Just seems strange as they play fine on the PC.

Yeah the Xbox can be awkward hence why it is best to stream off of pc where I'm pretty sure that the pc does the work. Have you downloaded the optional media update for your Xbox? I think that it should have prompted you when you try to play a .avi anyway.
