360 What do i need?

Hey guys im a bit lost here, so im hoping you guys can help point me in the right direction at least, looking to get a 360 next week sometime, and im wanting to hook it upto my monitor, now it has a DVI and VGA connector no HDMI

so im guessing i will be losing quality if i use the VGA.

Also how on earth will i connect my headphones to it? i dont use speakers at all just use my razer carcharias which have the normal 3.5mm jacks so any help on how i would do that would be appreciated.

Official VGA cable will be fine, not sure about the headphones.

I have mine plugged in by HDMI, I also use something like this I hope its ok to link that.

If your headset is better than 2.1, them im not too sure.

If you do go VGA, since it has male audio output, you may need some Female to female RCA adapter thingys. Something like this and this

Do you want chat functionailty through your headset or just sound?

Both if possible, its just a stereo headset with a mic.

You may need to get one of these for the mic so it fits into the controller. You will need to change the settings to that voice comes through the speakers.

The jacks are already 3.5mm, normal headphone jacks. Or is it 2.5mm...i dunno, standard headphone fitting...so 2.5mm dunno why i said 3.5mm..

xbox controller takes a 2.5mm jack for the mic. The sound will still be a 3.5mm

. Whether or not it will annoy you, but i may be worth getting an extension on the 2.5mm one, it would personally annoy me having the converter thing near my hands.

I have the HDMI audio adapter that i plug my head set into a usb power cable and a 2.5mm jack into the controller

Cheers guys, thats that sorted, if for whatever reason it turns out to be a pain in the backside , might just make me get a new TV just for the 360 lol
