360/Wii and PS3 Comparison

Well this is gonna open a whole can of worms alllll over the place

TBH having a skim through it i honestly dont think there is much anyone can argue about. the PS3 just pipping the 360 on graphics is about the only thing i can think of.
Although the only thing i would really argue is the game library, as i would say the PS3 (especially since this is launch) should be able to include the PS2/PS games the wi should be able to include the gamecube (think thats the only ones it can play backwards without downloading) and the 360 with its 100 or so xbox titles it allows.
Least they took a sensible look at the size and weight of the 360 and PS3 though, showing the PS3 is only a hair heavier

So in the only part that matters (the games for the ignorant out there) the 360 clearly wins followed by the Wii?

Haha yeah...yet the PS3 wins overall.

How are Gamepro even in a position to give a decision on which of the consoles has a better CPU/GFX card anyway?

Shocking comparison. The fact they didn't compare things such as online fees, game prices and boasted Oblivion as one of the PS3's AAA titles is just a joke.
Come next March no one is going to be interested in paying £60 for Oblivion when it can be has for £17 on the PC or £30 on the 360!

The fact that programmers are complaining about the PS3 and its tricky cell processor is an early sign that its either going to end up with unfinished, culled down or buggy games, or simply all the best exclusives. The fact that it isn't out yet means it's impossible to judge.

I felt for the Wii in that competition too, really. it's in a league fo it's own and many people would say it wins hands down for the simple fact its games are fun, easy to pick up and family friendly.

Regardless of all that, we shall see what happens a year down the line. I'm very interested to see if the Ps3 is a revolution in itself or the biggest flump in console history.

I haven't read review sites for some time, they're all very biased one way or the other or even worse the reviews are fundamentally flawed in their own design.

Someone should do a review site, reviewing review sites (if you can understand that :D )

***, I don't really like these comparisons between the wii and the 360/ps3 as the wii is really a different kind of console. Plus I can't see why the wii received such a low score for vfm at £180 (with a game!) it's a steal.

Quite the biased comparison and how would you compare game libraries when the launch titles for the ps3 arent even announced yet?

If it was me, I would say XB360 wins every round on the bases that the other 2 console cannot be accessed by consumers and you are comparing stats/figures and screenshots against something that is already out and can be experienced by most people. ;)

But it doesn't say its a AAA title it only says its a launch title
Also PS3 games are gonna be 60 quid?? since when??

The Wii did get a bit of a raw deal, but tbh i dont think the Wii should be compared against the PS3 and 360.

By this time next year the PS3 will have sold more consoles than the 360 and Wii, and i am saying that known the 360 will have had twice as long in the market. I am not saying that makes it good or bad, just the way life is.
I really really dont see it being a flump at all

agreed, but as JUMPURS said, the ps3 will support the entire playstation back catalogue which includes some truly great games.

Hmm, I doubt that very much, even if the PS3 does sell incredibly well I don't think Sony will have enough units to go over the amount the 360 has. Plus most people haven't held out for a PS3 and have got a 360.

Well true enough, but lets not forget that those titles are ps2 titles not ps3. I think that the majority of the people that is buying the ps3 will have a ps2 at home also given the popularity of the console over the years.

When I buy a new console, I am interested mainly on the games made for it specifically. Backward capatability is just a space saver for me as I wont need the PS2 anymore.

Yeah thats true production is the only thing i thought of too. But also the people who held out and have now bought a 360 will have another 4 or 5 months to save up for a PS3 at launch and if the shortages are like the 360 and PSP then they will have another 2 months before being able to walk into a shop and buy one on impulse.

Lets not forget the price of the console also it doesnt exactly scream mass market, sure the specialist gamer and playstation diehards will buy it regardless of the price but that is still a small % of the overall market. The average Smith family would probably be put off by such a high price tag and might go for the cheaper alternatives instead

True but some folk may even trade in the PS2 to buy a PS3.
Also all the new games coming out on the PS2 after the PS3 launch will still be huge. Games like God of war 2 and FFXII are still to come out on the PS2, there is nothing coming on the xbox you would think, yeah i want that on the 360. But GoW2 is a must buy for me
