360 Wireless Adapter Woes....

Morning All,

Having a few issues with my wireless adapter.... strange thing is it worked perfectly on my old 360, although since then I have moved my router....

My router is in my room which is hard wired to my desktop, but my flat mates desktop is wireless - through one brick wall no problems..

I'm wondering if my router/modem (Netgear DG834) is having trouble pumping the connection through two sets of walls... and my 360 is under the tv in the fireplace.

Basically, I tried to set it up yesterday after purchasing my new elite... I disabled wep on my router to get the thing going, with the intention of re-adding the encryption key after I'd set up everything..

Is it worth moving the router to a more prominent position? Ideally we'd all have open plan houses, but its not a possibility in my flat! Anybody have any ideas.. The thing is, I cant even remember what process I went through to set it up last time!

Not entirely sure if I asked a question there - but if anybody has any answers or tips/ideas please let me know!

edit// if its in the wrong forum, apologies!//

Cheers,

Tom* :)

Although IMO it should work through only 2 brick walls, try moving it closer. If it still doesn't work then I would say it was a configuration issue either with the 360 (shouldn't need anything changing unless you are using static IPs) or the router.

I'll try that cheers...

Not entirely sure, but I seem to remember I set up the machines with static IP's for the firewall rules... hmm the plot thickens!

Cheers Nismo... I really hope its that simple!
