Hi guys

I wouls assume its a fault with the controller but before i take it back for a replacement i just wanted to check, it happens quite frequently, the power just goes off and i cant turn it back on (luckily the game pauses automaticly) i have to remove the battery pack and reattach it before i cen get it to come on, tried changing the batteries (even though oi only got my 360 last night) but its still happens.....is this and RTV?

Sounds like a duff connection on the battery pack causing it to come loose during play.Could be a good excuse to buy a play and charge kit :p

It'll go off if you leave it and don't press buttons as a battery saving feature.
If it is going off midgame when you are actually playing then that's another thing.

Is the screen also dimming and going into a kind of standby mode?

When you say you can't get it to turn back on - you mean by pressing the big green Xbox button in the middle of the controller?

I had this with both my controllers with battery packs. Any kind of 'abuse' while playing and off they went. I picked up play and charge kits for them and not had a problem since. The play and charge packs contact a different point to the AA batteries and they seem to be a much better fit.

Strange, myself and other people have found the exact opposite. That the PnC packs are looser, and the original 'normal' packs were super tight.

I'm not talking about the fit of the thing in the back, i'm talking about the amount of contact between the power points. I can turn my controllers off on demand with a bit of twisting with the AA battery pack on, I've not managed the same with the PnC packs on yet.. although I've been trying :p

Same thing surely? You must still be moving the actual pack?

Yes, but the difference is that when the pack/controller moves with the AA pack attached, it's enough to slightly disconnect one of the batteries from it's contact, resulting in the controller switching off. Because the PnC power connector is in a different place, this doesn't happen.

Of course :o

Still, my AA pack sat much tighter than the current PnC pack.
