Alright all?

Has anyone got the wireless headset for the 360, and what do you think of it?

I've been umming and ahhing over buying a halo ltd edition one for a while now, being a more fetching ear-wax hiding green colour but is it worth it in terms of sound quality/features?

For instance I really like having the mic-mute switch to hand, so if I want to talk on the phone or to the flatmate while playing (halo, for instance, every night...) I don't have to irritate my team-mates with one sided drivel. Does the wireless version have a similar self mute capacity besides the on/off button? Powering down the headset, saying my piece and then waiting for the headset to reconnect, regardless of how quick the pairing takes doesn't compare favourably to flicking a switch that is an inch away from my thumb while my hands are both still on the pad. Whats the sound quality like compared to the wired version as well, becasue I don't particularly rate the quality of the wired headset I got originally with my xbox package for the quick, concise discussion of tactics, what with the 'What?' 'Sorry?' 'I didn't quite get that...'

any opinions people? The money aspect of it isn't so important, as I'm returning some sporting goods that were defective so effectively it's free money. If the sound quality is better than wired and it still has a decent mute function then it'd be worth £30 to me.

I've had mine a while, and although I don't use it often (small house, wife that would wake if a gnat farted), when I have used it I've found it comfy and clear.

Only thing I don't like is the charger, it would have been nice ifit came with a USB charger, but other than that, I think it's worth the money.

Think they do now. Which is a bummer for you.

I bought one of the new Halo edition headsets so I could get the USB charger, I also have the original with mains charger.

Fantastic headset, I've never had a problem.

I'll swap! :)

I dont like the usb one. Rather have the charger so i can charge over night without having a computer on.

headset is good quality, battery life is decent, to mute the headset you just press the power button rather than hold it down to turn it on/off

As ive said before they are great, I use mine on both my PC and my 360. Battery life is about 8 hrs if fully charged and i rarely play for that sort of time anymore.

I have a first run one and the mains charger lets me quickly recharge it if needed.

None have a standard charger now, unless you can pick up an old style white one. Atleast thats what was said in a previous thread regarding these things, i dont know from personal experience

But you can still get old style white ones, not all in the shops are halo 3 edition ones.
By old style i meant from before they changed to using usb chargers, if you was to order a white one online today its pretty likely you would end up with a usb charger version

It's great other than it only comes with a 'small' or 'medium' earpiece and medium just hurts after a while because it feels a couple of millimeters too small, so after 15 minutes my ear starts aching a lot, often to the point it has to be removed :(.

I would have thought that taking off the earpiece would be the (much) less painful option :D

Snap - tis my only gripe :(

Waste of time, the batteries die so quickly.

Really? Mine lasts for hours. In fact when I went through legendary Halo 3 the other weekend I think we were on around 12 hours in total and my headset leasted the whole time.
