Can anyone tell me how simple this will work? I'm currently using a wired cable straight from the modem but soon that wont be an option, so I'm tempted by the wireless option, even at the price.. is it going to be simply plug n play? the wireless network at my girlfriends house I haven't a clue about except I know it finds my laptop without question lol. Should I take the plunge to save my Live experience?

Another option would be to use some D-Link Network plugs or other Powerline adaptors.

These utilise the house mains ring and send the network signal down it. You can get a pair rated to 200Mbps plugs for about £85. Or you could go with something a bit cheaper like the Devolo's which are rated to 85Mbps for around £70. Plug one into the wall by your router and another next to the console. This way you don't have to worry about any wireless woes and you can always use them again for another application or even an extra console / pc.

It should not be any more difficult than connecting it up, putting in your wireless key, and Bob's your mother's brother.

If it's any more difficult than that, you have network configuration or kit problems.
