Well I have a SDTV atm (upgrade eventually)

What I'm asking is. Will it look a lot better than my xbox?

I don't want to use my monitor as I like to play my console somewhere more comfy like my bed / couch :)

Tell me what you guys think

Yes, I have a SDTV Samsung 28" CRT and its great the graphics are still eye candy but they are not as crisp as a HD TV you can see the difference, been playing the 360 on SD since the launch and I would love a HD TV the price of them is just too much at the moment.

Yeah I reckon I'll invest in a 360 tbh,

Any games you'd deffo recommend?

I really like to look of Splinter Cell 4 oooOoo and I can't wait for Gears of War :p

I bought my 360 and used it on a portable 14" Mono TV for the first ~3 months of owning it. The picture quality wasn't great but I had expected that on such a small TV via the normal Composite > Scart adapter.

I did get to test it out on a friend's 28" Widescreen Panasonic though the picture quality wasn't that much better at the time as it was still running via the Composite > Scart adapter.

If you've got a semi-decent SD TV then it would probably be wise to invest in an RGB cable (Official Microsoft cables tend to be recommended over 3rd party) until such time as you upgrade to HDTV.

The console is fine in SD. I played it for a while on a 32" widescreen telly (non HD) and the graphics were a good step up from my Xbox 1. Besides, if the screen isn't huge, the difference gets less and less.

I take my 360 to my girlfriends who has a 14" TV and its still an enjoyable experience.

Prefer my 32" HDTV mind...

I'm running mine on a Panasonic 32" pd30

runs through component video connectors at 480p and it looks pretty damn sharp to be honest..much better than I was expecting

I will get an LCD at some point but I love my telly..its such a good tube

I'm playing on a crappy 17" portable in my room (damn when will the house get finished!). I play it mostly when the parents go away though on the 42" HD :D

I'll probably ask for my own HDTV for Christmas.

But yeah, it's still enjoyable just not quite as. The only problem I had was reading the text on Dead Rising in my room but it was fine downstairs.

Yep the 360 will look perfectly fine on a SDTV.

Just be prepared for some blurry graphics in places (PGR3 and upcoming corners can be annoying).

Also there are some excellent offers avaiable on HDTV's rightnow.

I have seen a goodmans 26" HDTv going for around the £350 mark which is an excellent buy. I would have got it but unfortunately its too wide for the space I have available (speakers are on the side).

Got my new one through my Tosh 36" SD Widescreen via component & it looks the dogs :D

No doubt HD would be better, but you won't be disappointed.

Does the Hard Drive really help load times like with xbox?

I was thinking about just going for the core and an rgb cable atm (getting the other stuff as I can afford it), not really fussed about live tbh.

If you don't want to download Demo's, Video's or Arcade classics then I wouldn't bother with the HDD (though you'll need it for Football Manager).

As for ignoring Live alltogether I can't help but think thats a mistake, it's such an important feature for the Xbox360 experience. For me it makes the console great. It's a fantastic service and much better than anything used on the PC.

No. Just an Internet connection. If you're not getting the HDD you will need to buy a memory card anyway, this will store your gamertag.
